Job Summary

The Quality Technician & Grader is a member of the Jewelry Buying Office staff responsible for grading, configuring, stocking, receiving, and returning specific jewelry categories and vendors. This role also handles diamond grading processes while assisting the JBO Manager and other buyers.

Strong accuracy, administrative, and spreadsheet skills are required for this position.

Major Responsibilities / Activities
  • Daily inspection and grading of all required products entering the buying office, making discrimination judgments against established standards and specifications and determining proper disposition as necessary.
  • Make recommendations concerning product workmanship issues (setting, polishing, jeweler assembly) and provide feedback to buyers for supplier communication.
  • Verification of diamonds using gauges and equipment to detect synthetic materials.
  • Set up, configure, and stock all products as directed by the department.
  • Stock and process trade-ins, SKU requests, and make-up break-ups, including requesting, scanning, logging, and ensuring sales associates receive proper customer documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist with quality corrective action summaries when products fail to meet LBG standards, including maintaining proper documentation and organized files.
  • Work with suppliers on client special requests, including bridal vendors for purchasing, exchanges, inventory management, and follow-up.
  • Assist with daily JBO operations, including opening packages and processing transfers.
  • Place, maintain, and follow up on special orders for specified vendors.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3–5 years of quality control experience.
  • Strong dexterity skills using tools such as tweezers.
  • Graduate Gemologist credentials preferred.
  • Extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer service orientation; experience interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Proficiency with software applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, and manufacturing management systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a sizable and varied workload.
  • Ability to embrace a team atmosphere and work cooperatively across departments.

Watch Sales Specialist | West Hartford, CT

Lux Bond & Green, New England’s premier family jeweler, is seeking a Watch Sales Specialist to join the team at our flagship location in West Hartford.

The Watch Sales Specialist at the Lux Bond & Green flagship location in West Hartford is to provide an exceptional in-store experience for all watch brands upholding the rigorous standards required by Rolex and additional luxury brands. The goal is to cultivate each client encounter into an ongoing trusting relationship ensuring a seamless experience for all clients including in-person visits, online encounters, and consistent follow-up utilizing the CRM system. While mastering and selling all watch brands is a pivotal part of the position, we expect the specialist to sell jewelry and giftware to develop well-rounded relationships with all customers in our noncommissioned environment The position reports to the West Hartford Store Manager.

Major Responsibilities / Activities
  • Develop strong client relationships to meet and exceed monthly sales goals. Practice suggestive selling and offer all customers add-on items in order to drive multiple unit sales with a focus on building jewelry sales as a percentage of total sales.

  • Complete all sales and service documentation and related responsibilities including gift-wrapping, shipping, special orders, thank you notes, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients by delivering exceptional customer service. Regularly reach out to and engage potential clients through networking, community events, etc. Utilize company systems to maintain all client information and contact clients on a regular basis using e-mail, texts, event invitations, etc.
  • Embrace the use of multiple forms of technology including regular use of Podium/CRM to communicate with clients, obtain customer reviews, and accept payments.
  • Develop strong knowledge of all store products and services and use this knowledge to personalize the shopping experience to suit each client’s preferences.
  • Manage client inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and empathy, ensuring any issues are resolved efficiently and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Assist with social media updates for the store by submitting photos and creating videos which can be used for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Understand and properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure quick and efficient transactions, including capturing client data and asking for reviews.
  • Store Maintenance: keep merchandise displays fresh, exciting, properly stocked, and presented in an organized and attractive fashion. Ensure the store is outstanding in its appearance and cleanliness by assisting with daily cleaning of giftware and jewelry areas (e.g., no fingerprints on cases or merchandise), vacuuming, and overall housekeeping of the store (trash removal, dusting, etc.) as well as assisting with the upkeep and cleaning of bathrooms and lunchroom.
  • Security: ensure all security procedures are followed on a daily basis such as maintaining proper coverage on the sales floor, showing one piece of merchandise at a time, locking all cases and being constantly aware of activity in the store
Watch Sales Specialist Focus Areas

Client Experience & Sales Excellence

  • Establish strong rapport with all watch clients and work closely with our experienced Watch Specialist to be the first up for watch clients in the store. Be adept at turning over sales/customers when needed to ensure the experience is positive and memorable for every client.
  • Work with management to reinforce Rolex and Tudor client communication expectations (response time expectations online, cadence to follow-up on requests in-store and online).
  • Focus on the client experience in the watch area by providing excellent customer service in a luxury environment.
  • Champion the use of the CRM system to collect customer data and use it as a tool for efficient and timely follow up with clients.

Training & Knowledge

  • Collaborate with the experienced Watch Specialist and West Hartford store management to maintain personal training standards in watch knowledge and various brand training platforms. Complete all training modules when requested on a timely basis.
  • Ensure participation in scheduled watch meetings.
  • Complete required Rolex, Tudor, and other watch brand trainings in a timely manner.
  • Maintain expertise of warranty activation processes for all watch brands, ensuring accurate logins, proper activation, and adherence to each brand’s specific warranty timeline and procedures.

Inventory & Merchandising

  • On a daily basis, maintain visually appealing, brand-compliant watch displays, including showcases, windows, and backdrops.
  • Conduct periodic inventories of watches, presentation boxes, warranty cards, branded materials, and swag, ensuring accuracy and pristine condition.
  • Assist with inventory management processes including the timely receiving, verification, organization, and display of all watch-related materials.
  • Handle all inventory with the care necessary to keep it in excellent condition

Part-time Facilities Maintenance Associate | West Hartford, CT

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM


Position Responsibilities:

Store Cleanliness/Safety

Tasks include:

Daily:

  • Vacuum all carpeted areas upstairs in the store.
  • Sweep or vacuum stairwells/stairs, with the exception of our paid cleaners’ deep cleaning every other week.
  • In the mornings, Windex the front store windows and window ledge. Dust inside the window boxes or indoor ledge as necessary.
  • Maintain the kitchen/lunchroom, including cleaning each morning, unloading the dishwasher, and refilling supplies like paper towels, dish soap, etc.
  • Throw out all garbage and recycling from every area of the store.
  • Check supplies in restrooms and areas with sinks to ensure paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and tissues are filled.
  • Check client hospitality to make sure beverages/waters are stocked/filled, and note if we need to reorder anything.
  • When tasks are completed at 46 LaSalle Road, complete the same steps in Store 52 at least 3 times a week.

Weekly:

  • Empty can recycling.
  • Spot clean the kitchen microwave and purge the fridge of unmarked/dated items.
  • Check our soda vending machine and refill if necessary.
  • Ensure box supplies and other gift wrap supplies are fully replenished for both locations.

Monthly:

  • Complete items on John Ketz’s facilities checklist, which includes:
    • Inspecting all fire extinguishers on the 1st of every month, signing off on individual inspections and then the master sheet. Email a copy of completion to JK and management.
    • Testing emergency lights and exit signs.
    • Walking through the property to check for any safety, electrical, or lighting concerns.
    • Walking through the property to check for broken issues or items to report which may be a safety hazard.
  • Complete full cleaning and sanitizing of the refrigerator.

Occasional/Infrequent:

  • During inclement weather, remove snow from the back porch and stairs and apply salt as needed.
  • Be available to assist with front entrance snow removal if our plow company has not yet arrived.
  • Monitor snow accumulation outside on our windows and remove snow if it poses a hazard.
  • Assist with occasional cleaning up out front from nighttime revelers, which may include cleaning up the trash they leave behind.
  • Assist with occasional clean-up of the outside parking area for our staff when there is litter.
  • Assist with moving high-traffic area rugs as needed between upstairs and downstairs or in different areas of the store.

Store Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance for both stores, such as changing lightbulbs, addressing simple plumbing issues, checking roof drains, maintaining sump pumps, and handling any other type of maintenance issue. Partner with the corporate Facilities Manager as needed on more complex issues.
  • Conduct minor repairs on building structures as needed, e.g., touching up paint, fixing ceiling tiles, etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by management may include assisting during busy periods by covering the front door during busy weekdays.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1–3 years of previous experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and basic carpentry preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work on feet for long periods, lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, etc.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
