Working with CEO John Green, the Marketing Director is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all Lux Bond & Green’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations.


Manage the advertising, marketing, and public relations department.  Create and execute a marketing budget within the established guidelines. Manage the budget with monthly updates including all coop with vendors and credits.

Manage and direct Marketing Assistant for all aspects of department as well as daily tasks including coop, LBG's Internet, social media and other tasks.

Responsible for the design and creation of advertising materials, marketing strategies and branding pages for print, billboard, LBG and related Internet, magazines and social media. Placement for all advertising and related collateral. Coordinate all necessary photography for print advertisements, electronic media, catalogs, brochures, Internet, social media, and store signage

Spearhead Lux Bond & Green’s digital marketing which should include a complete understanding of Constant Contact email marketing and how it feeds to our social media along with analytics provided. Must have a strong understanding of the devices available in digital marketing (engagement rates, click through rates, retargeting, etc.).

Negotiate as necessary media, related contracts for purchasing of time, space, positioning, and frequency.

Coordinate the special events with our store managers and buyers for all necessary marketing materials and communications.  Communicate with company staff via LBG Central and other means as needed.  Create signage for stores, design ads, postcards or other media needed to promote events.

Coordinate, execute and schedule all media including and not limited to print, electronic, videos for stores that have televisions, billboards, LBG website home pages and e-blasts as outlined in our marketing plan. Work with Marketing Assistant to design e-blasts ensuring featured merchandise is in stock and subject lines entice customers to click through to the item. Utilize objective measures (e.g., unit and dollar sales) to determine the effectiveness of the particular marketing pieces.

Build strong relationships with all Store Managers, Jewelry Buying office, Giftware Buying office, and LBG vendors ensuring frequent and timely communication to meet deadlines.

Review ads, copy, Logo's and stock with the appropriate departments.

Coordinate letterhead, thank you notes, appraisal forms, business cards, etc.



  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, and supervising personnel.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
  • Experience designing and producing print ads, publications, e-blasts, and internet home pages.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout including InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Excel, and Acrobat. Knowledge of Constant Contact, CMS & HTML is strongly preferred.

Working with Marketing/Advertising Director, the Assistant is responsible for the design and development of marketing materials including print ads, e-blasts, store signage, etc. as well as handling co-op and budget tracking.


Design advertising and write copy for local and national media including: newspapers, magazines, programs, brochures, billboards, digital, signage, duratrans, store forms, store signage, postcards, direct mail pieces, flyers, brochures, e-blasts and catalogs. Must be proficient in the use of InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Excel, and Acrobat, and Constant Contact software programs. Knowledge of CMS & HTML is preferred.

Maintain Lux Bond & Green's website for all advertising. Work with our photographer, vendors, IT Manager, Jewelry and the Giftware Buying Departments to coordinate information and merchandise images to prepare them to be web - ready.

Send co-op advertising materials (tear sheets, invoices, etc.) to vendors such as Rolex, Mikimoto and David Yurman, etc. for reimbursement of co-op monies and follow up on collection. Enter data into an excel format for organizational purposes and reference. Coordinate and work with the accounts receivable department.

Maintain all design imaging on the LBG website and updating any information concerning events, featured items, homepages, landing pages, all advertisements, e-blasts, catalogs, "IN THE MEDIA", updating any information pages and putting new images on the web.

Communicate regularly with store managers, buyers, upper management, and store employees to inform all concerned about advertising media, store signage, etc. Coordinate letterhead, thank you notes, business cards, etc.

West Hartford Store

Giftware/Bridal Sales Associate

As a Giftware/Bridal Sales Associate at Lux Bond & Green, your primary responsibility will be to provide outstanding customer service to all clients.  In addition, you will be responsible for visual merchandising and display of giftware, stock replenishment to ensure all merchandise is represented on the sales floor, and working with brides to register them at Lux Bond & Green.  Additional duties include:

  • Maintain customer service and selling as the top priority.  While china, crystal and gifts will be your primary responsibility, you will also be cross-trained to sell fine jewelry and watches.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of all products and services and use this knowledge to build sales.  A strong understanding of table setting, china, and crystal items is required.
  • Practice suggestive selling and offer all customers add-on items in order to drive multiple unit sales
  • Understand and properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure quick and efficient transactions.
  • Maintain bridal registries by staying up to date on communication with the customer as well as making sure all items on a registry are in proper sku order and available for purchase.
  • Contact customers in a timely fashion when items are available as well as if there are any potential problems that need to be solved.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation standards and ensure merchandise is replenished on the selling floor
  • Inventory Control: take responsibility for new tickets, price changes, transfers, and accurate stocking of merchandise. Regularly assist with spot inventories, year-end inventory and reconciliation to help solve discrepancies and eliminate loss.
  • Corporate sales: function as the primary point of contact for corporate sales for the West Hartford store working with the Giftware and/or Jewelry/Watch buying offices to drive corporate business
  • Experience working with high end gifts, china and crystal is strongly preferred as is experience with bridal registry.  To become a part of our team, we require significant experience, excellent references, and strong product knowledge as well as a genuine passion for high end luxury gifts.
