The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time position responsible for opening/closing and daily running of the store in conjunction with the Store Manager. When the Store Manager is off, the Assistant Store Manager is the manager on duty in charge of the store. In addition, the Assistant Store Manager assists the manager in applying all rules that pertain to the daily operation of the store, spends the bulk of the day on the selling floor, and addresses customer and staff problems and concerns. The Assistant Manager is also expected to contribute to the overall sales and profitability of the store, demonstrate strong security awareness, and control inventory. As a member of management reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager is also expected to be a symbol of exceptional customer service, be a role model for the company's Core Values, and play a significant role in the supervision and development of the staff.

  • Sales & Customer Service: handle all aspects of selling in a professional, highly productive manner embracing and applying Lux Bond & Green's core values of respect, integrity, communication, confidentiality and teamwork in every interaction. Complete all sales and service documentation and related responsibilities including gift-wrapping, shipping, special orders, thank you notes, etc. in a timely and accurate manner. The Assistant Manager should be one of the top sales contributors in the store. 
  • Inventory Control: take responsibility for new tickets, price changes, receiving, transfers, and accurate stocking of merchandise. Regularly assign spot inventories, assist with year end inventory and reconciliation to help solve discrepancies and eliminate loss. Monitor expenses such as the use of bags, supplies, etc. to help the company run as profitably as possible. 
  • Store Maintenance: keep merchandise displays fresh, exciting, properly stocked, and presented in an organized and attractive fashion. Ensure the store is outstanding in its appearance and cleanliness by assigning and assisting with daily cleaning of giftware and jewelry areas, vacuuming, and overall housekeeping of the store (trash removal, dusting, etc.). 
  • Security: ensure all security procedures are followed on a daily basis such as maintaining proper coverage on the sales floor, showing one piece of merchandise at a time, locking all cases and being constantly aware of activity in the store. 
  • Keyholder: open and close the store as needed and handle all paperwork and systems requirements associated with the POS system and sales posting for the day including the counting and balancing of the registers and petty cash. Cooperate with the alarm company in the event of alarm issues or after hours' alarm calls. 
  • Service/Repair: be able to perform basic service procedures such as sizing links in a watch bracelet and changing watch batteries in order to facilitate the sale process and provide superior customer service. Have a full understanding of and assist with the take in of repairs including checking items for damage, use of the repair system, and sending merchandise out for repair. 
  • Staff Supervision, Training and Development – all members of store management work as a team to: 
    • supervise store associates' daily activities including regularly assigning work and following up 
    • monitor and correct time clock transactions for hourly staff ensuring work hours, vacation, sick time, etc. are recorded accurately in the system each week 
    • screen, interview, and hire new associates and conduct new employee orientation 
    • continuously train new associates and provide on-going training to experienced staff through in-store seminars, morning meetings, job shadowing, etc. 
    • set goals for associates and regularly coach and counsel staff to a higher level performance including participation in performance review process 
    • recognize, correct and document poor associate performance utilizing the Performance Action guidelines 
    • develop and/or monitor staffing schedules for the store to maximize customer service, security, and control costs

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a luxury sales environment, preferably jewelry/watches.
Proven, successful track record selling luxury watches.
Demonstrated skill in managing people.
Proficient in the use of POS systems and basic Microsoft Office suite.


 Lux Bond & Green is currently seeking Full-time Sales Professionals for our stores located in Glastonbury, CT, the Shops at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT, and Wellesley, MA. The primary responsibility in these positions is to provide outstanding customer service to all clients advising them on jewelry, watch, and gift selections. In addition, responsibilities include assisting with inventory control, store maintenance, and becoming proficient on all store systems.  Duties include:

 -Exhibit a passion for luxury jewelry and watches as well as superior selling skills

-Build warm and friendly customer relationships by providing exceptional customer service always

  • Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services and use this knowledge to build sales
  • Practice suggestive selling and offer all customers add-on items to drive multiple unit sales
  • Understand and properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure quick and efficient transactions
  • Maintain merchandise presentation standards and ensure merchandise is replenished on the selling floor 

Experience: This position involves a great deal of customer contact in-person as well as via phone and e-mail. The ideal candidate must have proven expertise with customer correspondence, have excellent communication skills, and be computer literate. Prior experience in a luxury sales environment and knowledge of high-end jewelry and watches is strongly preferred.



The Receptionist/Office Support Associate handles a myriad of duties which support our West Hartford store.  Diligence is required in handling a multitude of responsibilities whether it is answering the multi-line switchboard, handling transfers, checking in new merchandise, or accurately typing Documents of Purchase for customers. Duties include:

Switchboard Operations - Prompt response to incoming calls and their appropriate relay.

Handling the typing, filing and maintaining of all Documents of Purchase in an efficient and accurate manner for all stores. Assist with typing appraisals if needed.

Accurate Handling of End of Day Closeout - Balancing deposit, petty cash/money on hand. Must ensure petty cash is reconciled. Petty cash must be balanced on a weekly basis

Accurate Handling of Transfers and Receiving - Proper handling of jewelry with regard to re-tickets as well as prompt transfer shipments as well as requests from other locations. Checking in new merchandise and alerting sales staff of priority or high value items.

Running open in transit reports for inventory control.

Assists with repair calls and filing as well as assisting on the sales floor as needed.

Ensure store supply closet is stocked and maintained. Contact corporate to order sales slips or copy paper.

Any other duties assigned by management.

Experience: The selected candidate for this position must have

  • strong computer proficiency
  • understanding of multi-line switchboards
  • excellent typing skills
  • meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • the ability to multi-task and juggle shifting priorities
  • understanding of Point of Sale systems and retail experience is strongly preferred.
  •  Extensive software skills are required, including Microsoft Office, and Excel.  Qualified applicants will type at a minimum of 70 wpm.  Experience with a "Point of Sale" system is preferred.  Strong communication skills are required as well as attention to detail and accuracy with spelling.
