AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

FULL-TIME SALES PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN WEST HARTFORD AND WESTPORT, CT
The primary responsibility of a Full-time Sales Professional is to provide outstanding customer service to all clients advising them on jewelry, watch, and gift selections. In addition, responsibilities include assisting with inventory control, store maintenance, and becoming proficient on all store systems. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: 
      • Develop strong client relationships to meet and exceed monthly sales goals. Practice suggestive selling and offer all customers add-on items in order to drive multiple unit sales
      • Handle all aspects of selling fine jewelry & watches in a professional, highly productive manner embracing and applying Lux Bond & Green’s core values of Customer Service, Teamwork, Communication, Confidentiality, Respect, and Integrity in every interaction.
      • Complete all sales and service documentation and related responsibilities including gift-wrapping, shipping, special orders, thank you notes, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Cultivate customer relationships with new and existing customers by providing exceptional customer service. Regularly outreach to potential customers through networking, community events, etc. to get customers into the store. Keep a client book and contact customers on a regular basis using e-mail, texts, event invitations, etc.
      • Embrace the use of multiple forms of technology including regular use of Podium to communicate with clients, obtain customer reviews, and accept payments. 
      • Develop strong knowledge of all store products and services and use this knowledge to build sales
      • Understand and properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure quick and efficient transactions including capturing customer data
      • Store Maintenance: keep merchandise displays fresh, exciting, properly stocked, and presented in an organized and attractive fashion. Ensure the store is outstanding in its appearance and cleanliness by assisting with daily cleaning of giftware and jewelry areas (e.g., no fingerprints on cases or merchandise), vacuuming, and overall housekeeping of the store (trash removal, dusting, etc.) as well as assisting with the upkeep and cleaning of bathrooms and lunchroom.
      • Security: ensure all security procedures are followed on a daily basis such as maintaining proper coverage on the sales floor, showing one piece of merchandise at a time, locking all cases and being constantly aware of activity in the store

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
      • Experience in the luxury jewelry and watch market is strongly preferred 
      • Knowledge of luxury watches is strongly preferred
      • Proven track record in achieving sales results.
      • Ability to prospect and develop strong customer relationships
      • Proficiency with Point of Sales (POS) systems and Microsoft Outlook/email.
      • This position requires standing most of the day and good manual dexterity to work with and show small pieces of jewelry.

PART-TIME FACILITIES/SHIPPING ASSOCIATE – WEST HARTFORD, CT
Work Hours:            Schedule will be for approximately 20 – 24 hours per week from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm Monday through Friday
Skills Required:      The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have strong organizational and computer skills, and be able to multi-task.  Ability to lift boxes up to 50 pounds and make frequent trips up and down stairs is required. 
Responsibilities:    The position responsibilities are as follows:
    • Store Cleanliness: responsible for daily cleaning of the store. Tasks include:
      • Daily vacuuming of store as well as trash/recycling removal each morning
      • Cleaning store awnings, front windows, and clearing front and back entrances of leaves, debris, snow, etc.
      • Maintenance of the kitchen/lunchroom including cleaning each morning, unloading the dishwasher, refilling supplies like paper towels, soda machine, etc.
      • Assist with store opening procedures such as pulling merchandise from the backroom to the selling floor
    • Shipping and Receiving:  Prepare merchandise and select correct packaging materials for an item's secure and cost-effective shipment via FedEx/UPS/Post office. Provide tracking numbers to the requesting salesperson.  Record and distribute incoming packages to their appropriate recipients
    • Store Maintenance: handle maintenance issues for the store such as changing lightbulbs, simple plumbing issues, checking roof drains, maintaining sump pumps, and any other type of maintenance issue. Partner with corporate Facilities Manager on more complex issues.
    • Any other duties assigned by management which may include assisting during busy periods by covering the front door and/or serving as back-up to the Receptionist on the phone system.

GOLDSMITH – WEST HARTFORD, CT
The Goldsmith is a full-time position responsible for both basic and advanced jewelry repair and stone setting.  Primary responsibility includes providing exceptional customer service in a cost-effective manner by handling all levels of jewelry repair and restoration in-house.   The Goldsmith must be proficient in and be prepared to personally handle repairs on high end and basic jewelry including working with all metals (gold, silver, platinum) as well as handling unique and precious stones.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Perform necessary basic and high-end repair and restoration on jewelry sent in by customers.  Work with all types of metals and various gemstones including precious and semi-precious.
    • Stone setting including working with intricate and unique settings.
    • Utilize laser welding and the latest in laser welding technology.
    • Review service jobs for condition and necessity of materials
    • Assist in design and/or creative techniques to meet customers’ needs.
    • Handle maintenance duties in the shop ensuring a safe and clean environment
    • Assist the department manager in the creation of new systems and carry out the necessary training with co-workers.
    • Effectively manage and document workload
    • Utilize computerized Point of Sale system to access, transfer and edit jobs
    • Ability to do engraving is a plus
    • Perform service and store related tasks as required by supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a goldsmith in a high-end, high-volume environment.

EQUIPMENT USED:

    • Handling and use of bench jeweler torches for fabrication and repair including knowledge of all safety requirements (proper lighting, idle and shut down) Proper handling of oxygen and natural gas including monitoring of pressure gauges, environment conditions (presence of chemicals and accelerants), regulation of flames and overall cognizance of shop safety.
    • Handling and use of cutting tools: Jewelers saw, flexible shaft machines, hand jigs, etc.
    • Handling and use of drilling and grinding tools: flexible shaft for drilling and burring, grinding wheels, files and emery, etc.
    • Handling and use of all bench tools: plyers, cutters, tweezers, gravers, setting tools, vices and holders, magnifiers, etc.
    • Management and handling of precious metals and solders.
    • Handling and use of laser welding machine including power regulation, management of materials and periodic maintenance. Adherence to safety rules.
    • Handling, use and management of bench top chemicals: flux, fire scale solutions, heat shields, etc.
    • Handling, use and management of other chemicals: Metal test acids, pickling solutions, cleaning solutions, plating solutions, attack glue and epoxy remover, etc.
    • Handling and use of Polishing equipment: proper use of high-speed polish machines, various abrasive rouges and buffs, proper adherence to all safety requirements (dust masks, safety glasses or goggles and finger/body protection. Periodic cleaning and sweep of all machines.
    • Proper management and collection of all shop sweeps and scrap, shop cleanliness and organization.
    • Use of laser engraving machine is a plus

REPAIR/SERVICE COORDINATOR – WELLESLEY, MA

JOB SUMMARY: The non-exempt Service Department Supervisor is an integral part of the team in the Wellesley store.  This position involves a great deal of customer contact and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail when taking in and tracking jewelry and watch repairs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

    • Working directly with customers at the service counter to process incoming jewelry, watches, and other repair items.  
    • Assisting customers with the pick-up and sale of repair goods. Quality control finished jobs and contact customers when jobs are completed.  
    • Advising customers on all incoming jewelry and watch repairs providing close attention to condition issues, item descriptions, etc.
    • Processing transactions through the repair computer module
    • Handling minor on-site repairs such as watch sizing and battery replacement
    • Accurately ordering supplies, processing invoices, and acting as a liaison with vendors, local repairs shops, and the West Hartford Service department to track all repairs
    • Communicating with customers via phone, Podium, text, and email to field incoming inquiries and keep them advised of their repair status
    • Cross-training to assist customers with fine jewelry sales as needed.
    • Any other duties assigned by supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong computer skills including mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficiency with typing and keyboard use is important when processing customer transactions.
    • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional phone and communication etiquette including the use of in-house texting and email programs
    • Dedicated team player able to work effectively with internal and external customers.
    • Good manual dexterity capable of working with small repairs
    • Prior experience in the jewelry/watch industry is strongly preferred
