CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:

Full-time Jewelry/Watch Customer Service Technician

We are currently seeing a Jewelry/Watch Customer Service Technician for our store located in West Hartford, CT. Prior retail jewelry experience is strongly preferred. Candidate must be highly motivated, have strong customer service and communication skills, be computer literate, and have good manual dexterity to work with small jewelry/watch repairs. The schedule for this position includes working Saturdays with an alternate day off during the week.

Responsibilities:

This position involves a great deal of customer contact including:

  • Working with customers at the service counter to process incoming jewelry, watches, and other repair items. 
  • Assisting customers with pick-up and sale of repair goods. Quality control finished jobs and contact customers when jobs are completed. 
  • Advising customers on all incoming jewelry and watch repairs providing close attention to condition issues, item descriptions, etc.
  • Processing transactions through the repair computer module
  • Handling minor on-site repairs such as watch sizing and battery replacement
  • Working closely with outside Vendors and Manufacturers and processing outgoing work to them as needed. 
  • Fielding incoming inquiries from customers via phone and email.


Gemologist Appraiser/Sales Professional

We are seeking an experienced Gemologist Appraiser/Sales Professional for our flagship store located at 46 LaSalle Road in West Hartford, Connecticut.

The Gemologist Appraiser/Sales Professional’s responsibilities include all types of appraisals (insurance, estate, and documents of purchase), fine jewelry and watch sales, diamond grading, and overall gemological support for sales and service staff. The Appraiser must be able to communicate comfortably and professionally with a high degree of expertise. Graduate Gemologist credentials are required. Duties include:

Appraisal Process - Work in West Hartford and other LBG locations (on an as-needed basis) to take in, review and perform various types of appraisals such as insurance, estate, documents of purchase, insurance replacement, damage report, validation, and offers to buy from customers and estates. Ensure appraisals are accurate, professionally written and are completed in a timely manner. Work with clients and store managers for customers interested in selling their jewelry. Report all private purchases to WH police department. Travel to other store locations as scheduled and as needed.

Sales & Customer Service – Develop strong client relationships to meet and exceed monthly sales goals. Handle all aspects of selling fine jewelry & watches in a professional, highly productive manner embracing and applying Lux Bond & Green’s core values of Customer Service, Teamwork, Communication, Confidentiality, Respect, and Integrity in every interaction. Complete all sales and service documentation and related responsibilities including gift-wrapping, shipping, special orders, thank you notes, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.

Quality Control - Quality controlling, grading and testing and verification for service department for diamonds, gemstones and gold of replacement gems and customers merchandise as needed. In addition, valuations and grading for trade-in merchandise which will come from our six locations

Over the Counter Purchasing - Handle over the counter purchasing including all gold buying for the West Hartford store.

Additional Duties – Assist with other duties expected of full-time sales staff such as spot inventories, price changes, store presentation & maintenance, etc.


Qualifications and Skills

Graduate Gemologist credentials are required.
